Beetroot offers a high concentration of Betain and stimulates the liver. Your body will be able to more easily detox from all those toxins. The minerals in pineapple help to fight hyperacidity and basil has an antibacterial effect, in case you caught some mean cold while partying.

I have to admit I have been in kind of a hibernation, just hanging in there, waiting for nicer, warmer days to come. You have to keep in mind, sleeping is a real energy guzzler. During your night’s sleep you spend nearly 50% of your base metabolic calories!
But now spring is in the air, my spirits are up again and I am back to fill up those empty batteries with healthy delicious food. It is time to switch from warm comfort food to healthy green vitamin bombs for a perfect start into the day and as a prep for summer and bikini time (you never can start too early). It is Green Smoothie Time!

With the start of the new year, many of us have made good resolutions: Less sugar and fat, more sports, less alcohol. Some of us even plan to detox for a day, weekend or even week. So did I, but I simply did not succeed…. I have guests over, whom I want to impress with yummy vegan food, so I bake a pizza; there are still Christmas cookies left over, which need to be eaten, and – from bad to worse – I stumble over a recipe for vegan egg flip I needed to try immediately.
